Bohuslän Big Band and Mia Kempff vocal. All music by Frank Zappa arranged by Niclas Rydh and Patrik Ehrnborg. A whole bunch of fresh and exciting arrangements, that are clearly Zappa and yet very big-band at the same time. Which is about as far from Basie and Ellington as you can get! Mia Kempff, fresh-voiced and vibrant, fronts the band for the first time, handling Frank Zappa’s lyrics of both the big and small things in life superbly well. Not to mention all those allusions to drugs, sex and rock’n roll …
The only thing missing on this album is Frank Zappa in person! The arrangements on the tunes are so perfect so it get me a hard on. I would like to give this album five sofas and that's top score here at PlanetZappa.com! God dam I should have been there, why did I miss these performers? Anyway, now I’m lucky it exist on CD. If you like Frank Zappa, and if you like music, then you have to buy this album! Patrik Ehrnborg plays some really good and smoking guitar, and the arrangements done by Nicklas Rydh are great. Last but not least we have Mia Kempff, for us in Sweden a famous singer but for the rest of you: by the record and here her singing.
