Peter Nylander Quartet

Peter Nylander - guitarist Peter Nylander is a Swedish jazz guitarist and composer who ,after several years of sideman and band member work, now releases an album in his own name; Peter Nylander Quartet - Eyes Open. The band is comprised of some of Sweden’s leading young jazz musicians. Together they have during the past few years performed and thus shaped the music before live audiences. Peter Nylander was born in Uppsala, Sweden, in 1970. However, for most of his childhood and early adulthood, Peter grew up in Italy and USA. After his high school graduation in Rome he moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where he attended Berklee College of Music. Here he pursued studies in performance, composition and arranging culminating in a Bachelor of Music Degree in 1995. Towards the end of 1996, Peter moved back to Sweden after many years of absence. He now lives in Stockholm and works as a freelance guitarist and is head of the jazz guitar department at the Royal Conservatory in Stockholm. Through the years Peter has had the opportunity to work with several interesting musicians in a wide array of musical situations. He has performed with bassist Matthew Garrison, George Garzone, Hal Crook, Don Moye, Aaron Goldberg, Tim Luntzel, Jamie Haddad, Antonio Sanchez, to mention a few.
