Karin Burman
Karin was born and raised in Trollhättan, south west of Sweden.
She started her singing career in the local pop and jazz group Inspirit. Several talant performaces and gigs later she begun to form her own groups and write music in Gothenburg. In 1993 she started to compose and write lyrics with pianist and composer Peter Burman. The collaboration resulted in two albums released on Gimli Records. "Honest Blue" (1994) was a minor success. The first print sold out and the record made marks internationally. The second album "Growing Green" came in 1996. A third album was recorded but never released - unfortunately the tapes were stolen from the studio. After that "the colour suite" was broken and the project was put on ice.
During the years Karin has featured many traditional big bands around Gothenburg. On her solo album "Tonite" (to be released in May 2011) she tributes her personal gigants of jazz and admits her fling for the big band-era. The song "Take Me Back" has been arranged by Karin for a minor big band and is a "modern flirt" with the swing tradition. Karin was born and raised in Trollhättan, south west of Sweden. View Website:
