Anders Persson
Pianist Anders Persson was born in Gothenburg 1958 , and got his education at the Conservatory of Music in Gothenburg 1979 - 83 (jazzpiano & ensemble). He has since the early eighties been working as a performing artist and composer, playing and recording with a large number of well-known swedish and international groups and musicians like Time Unit, Anders Bergcrantz quintet, Encore, Gustavo Bergalli quintet, Stina & the Flippermen (Stina Nordenstam), Lina Nyberg Bang, Christian Spering kvintett, Bob Berg, Tom Harrell, Clark Terry, Luis Salinas, Toots Thielemans, Marie Bergman , Viktoria Tolstoy to mention a few. He is since 1988 leading his own trio with Yasuhito Mori, bass and Magnus Gran, drums. This group has released 3 CD's, "At large", "Domestic wax", and "In Person", highly acclaimed by the critics, and has toured twice in Japan. Anders has also been teaching at the Conservatory of Music in Ingesund 1987-96, the Conservatory of Music in Örebro 1994-, Nordjysk Musikkonservatorium (Aalborg) 1997-.
